REGISTRATION OF PATENTS
Patents are new inventions, which prove inventive reality and which are susceptible of industrial application.
The patent can be recognized by the union to the individual or legal entity that invented or improved a product or process. By means of the patent, one can explore commercially and exclusively the creation.
NATIONAL PATENT
This registry has as limit the Portuguese territory.
EUROPEAN PATENT
The European register can be validated in 38 countries that are currently part of the European Patent Convention.
INTERNATIONAL PATENT
Registers carried out directly in the countries of interest, respecting the local and individual laws of home country.
PATENT VIA PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty)
Registration of a patent that, through a single process, allows to protect the patent in 148 countries or jurisdictions.
UTILITY MODEL
Differentiated from patent registration, this registration is granted for an innovation in equipment or product already existing, but not protected by patent. In that case, the object of practical use must present a new shape, arrangement or improvement so that it may be characterized as an inventive act.
